The UBC Data Science Institute is pleased to announce funding support for these three new projects:

  1. Leveraging more accurate and flexible discourse structures in question-answering and summarization (Giuseppe Carenini)

  2. Computer vision and machine learning techniques for video and facial understanding (Leonid Sigal & Mark Schmidt)

  3. Knowledge Graphs – Mining, Cleaning and Maintenance (Laks Lakshmanan)

Congratulations to Drs. Carenini, Sigal, Schmidt and Lakshmanan. These projects are funded by the Huawei-DSI Research Partnership.
