The Data Science Institute is excited to announce its newest members to the team: William Jettinghoff and Sarah Abdelazim, who both bring a wealth of experience and a passion for data science.
Will joins DSI as the Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP). He is nearing the completion of his PhD in Social-Personality Psychology at the UBC, where his research focuses on the interplay between personality traits and cognition, particularly the phenomenon of motivated reasoning. A former Data Science for Social Good fellow, Will is known for his interdisciplinary approach and commitment to using data science for social impact.
Sarah brings a strong background in both biology and data science. She holds a BSc in Biology and a Master of Data Science, both from UBC. Her unique blend of expertise allows her to seamlessly bridge the gap between scientific research and data-driven insights.
Their arrival marks an exciting new chapter for the institute, and the team is eager to see the contributions they will make to the field of data science.
Welcome aboard, Will & Sarah!
