Researchers at the DSI and collaborators at the Faculty of Medicine have developed a novel artificial intelligence platform to study student social media data. The platform uses state-of-the-art large language models and unsupervised natural language processing tools to parse vast quantities of social media data, identifying mental health related themes as well as broader context relating to student life. With this tool researchers are able to better understand the mental health needs of the student population.
